Visual artist and photographer, Florent Touchot draws his inspiration from urban and popular cultures to create colorful and original artworks. Making the city his favorite theme, the artist collects pieces of posters on the walls of large cities, in the subway or on the flea markets he visits. He then integrates these raw fragments into his compositions by using a mixed technique of collage with marouflage and acrylic. This technique offers a subtle play of superimpositions, transparencies and depth. The black serigraphs on plexiglass plates that he fixes on the canvas accentuate these optical effects.

His universe gathers disparate fragments, torn pieces that he reworks with great patience. He crumples, scratches, tears and sculpts his material to create a relief and a visually coherent dynamic. Offering a renewed vision of London, Paris or Marseille, the artist most often focuses on the architecture of the buildings. The images, the colors, the words are familiar memories which make us rediscover our cities under a whole new aspect.
