Juxtapositions of shapes and colours are techniques well known to artists, and the three we are exhibiting at the gallery until December 6 have mastered the art of superimposing media to perfection. Camil Giralt paints with ink on canvas coated with quartz powder, skilfully creating a play of transparency between primary colours. Camille Levert's three-dimensional collages are based on a multitude of photographs of Hong Kong's teeming flora and neon lights. Finally, Russel West is also inspired by the Pearl of the Orient, creating intensely coloured three-dimensional labyrinths from drips of paint.
