Axelle Gosse — Parvaze & Mayer

Axelle Gosse — Parvaze & Mayer

February 13 - March 14, 2025

As the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris presents the first major European retrospective of Olga de Amaral, an iconic figure of the Colombian art scene and Fiber Art, the gallery celebrates the power of textiles and weaving techniques from distant lands. We are showcasing two artists inspired by faraway places and skilled craftsmanship. Axelle Gosse, a Belgian artist who has lived in Latin America and South Africa. Through her works, she invites us to explore patterns inspired by the landscapes that left a lasting impression on her. Her meticulous rope technique and the large format of her creations allow viewers to appreciate the intricate details. Meanwhile, Parvaze, an Indian artist from the Kashmir region, collaborates with Americain designer Peter Mayer, using an ancient crochet technique called "Aurah" to delicately weave contemporary patterns. Their work is deeply influenced by the natural world, where curves and organic elements are the cornerstones of their aesthetic.
