The most exciting time of the art year has come and we are more than keen on seeing you all this week in Miami, at our favorite art-filled event! New and exciting works will be on display, with timeless favorites such as Cécile Plaisance, Jeff Robb, Silvia Calmejane, Nemo Jantzen, Park Byung-Hoon, Russel West or Michelle Y Williams but also new works by artists such as Joris Ghilini and Ronald Westerhuis. This winter, to round off a year rich in discoveries, we are delighted to present a selection of works by the artists who made their mark this year. On show will be Peter Keizer's whimsical flower vases, Lídia Masllorens' large acrylic portraits, Jeff Robb and Cécile Plaisance's lenticulars, and works by new artists Camil Giralt and Jennifer McGregor. Come and see the exhibition at the gallery until 22 December.

The career of Joris Ghilini, a self-taught French artist whose work we discovered this year with great enthusiasm, is not devoid of a certain meaning. After studying law and a career in intellectual property, this art history buff left the profession to pursue applied research into the notion of iconography and its endangerment. From there, he set about producing art in a variety of forms, from painting and sculpture to site-specific installations. His work is rooted in his studio, a place of pictorial and sound experimentation where research and questioning of the notion of iconography form the essential basis of his approach. He doesn't hesitate to seize on the 'déjà-vu' or to turn the myth, the hero, or the sacred upside down, to demystify, divert, and weaken it... in order to tell a new story. From Picasso to Liz Taylor, or medieval religious icons, the great figures of art are transfigured; the real question remains that of the inexorable passage of time.

Joris has always been fascinated by art and its history, the events and influences with which artists have been confronted to provoke their own creativity and sometimes reinvent themselves: "More particularly, I like the element of mystery that surrounds certain pieces, the vanished pictorial techniques that are subject to speculation. I also like science fiction and, in general, anything that challenges our certainties, but also architecture, design and the people involved in it, which are an important part of my aesthetic approach."

The artist works mainly in wood, which he paints, sculpts and assembles, while remaining faithful to other techniques such as canvas and paper. He is often to be found in his studio, where he reworks and recycles some of his incessantly reworked pieces: "In fact, I see the creative process as a never-ending spiral: it's a way of life, a perpetual quest. Everything is a pretext for tirelessly producing and reproducing. My work evokes the passing of time and questions the notion of the masterpiece. I seek to create astonishment and arouse the curiosity of the viewer."

This fall, we're exhibiting three artists for whom everything is a pretext for bringing out the subject, and every means of expression is used. Camille Levert uses photo paper and collage to highlight the verticality and density of cities like Hong Kong. Sculptor Joris Ghilini creates painted bas-reliefs whose subjects recall the classics of art history and the passage of time. Last but not least, Jeff Robb uses lenticular photography to give a 3D dimension to the human body. Come and discover their 3D works at the gallery until October 10.

In collaboration with Visus Gallery, we are delighted to be exhibiting the work of Cécile Plaisance, Jeff Robb, Lídia Masllorens, Antoine Gaussin and Nicolas Dubreuille throughout the summer, in the former cinema of St-Martin-en-Ré "l'Atlantic", transformed into an art gallery. Didier Fournet lives and works between Guéthary, a renowned Basque village, and Porto, a young, attractive, and sparkling Portuguese city, both cradled by the waves of the Atlantic. For him, there is no contradiction between the charm of Guéthary and the urban life of Porto: they share the same lifestyle and creativity. It is here, on his return from his travels, that Didier Fournet finds the refuge and concentration he needs to create his pictorial works of "pixel time" and "abstract vibrations". As an outdoor photographer and digital painter working at his computer, he enjoys transforming reality and making it vibrate to the point of abstraction, creating a new photographic field whose texture becomes graphic, playing with time to the point of a certain sense of ubiquity. Peter Keizer's world is one of childhood memories, like a sunny afternoon in a field of flowers, like a dog running with delight. "Lie down on the grass and look up at the trees: if you have a young mind, you'll see what I've painted," says the Dutch artist, who graduated from the Rijksakademie and the Royal College of Arts over thirty years ago. In his unique work, Peter Keizer uses oil paint directly from the tube, giving a sculptural aspect to his paintings and a pictorial aspect to his sculptures. For his solo show at the gallery, we are very pleased to be exhibiting his recent work, in which nature tends towards abstraction, as well as older works with a naïve, figurative spirit.

Lídia Masllorens lives in the north of Catalonia, between the Gavarres mountains, the plain of La Selva, and the Costa Brava. The painter often walks through this landscape, between the darkness of the mountain oaks and the light of the pines, the sky, and the Mediterranean Sea. It is in these places that the chiaroscuro develops in her paintings. She lives and works in the historic centre of her village, Cassà, where she feels the tinkling of the church bells, which mark the passage of time and life. These bells are the heartbeat of this small country of artists and potters, who build small clay walls every day, which in turn are transformed into real works of art. Her vast studio allows her to create her monumental works on paper, using her very special technique of removing black acrylic, a process that forces humility since the result is never certain. But once the face emerges from the work, once it reflects all the power of a gaze, all the beauty of an untamed head of hair, Lídia can finally return to her walks in the quiet of her village and the surrounding nature. Between tumult and contemplation, discover the universe of our internationally successful artist, whose faces will leave a lasting impression.

According to the Catalan artist Lídia Masllorens, a gaze speaks louder than two hundred words. Because faces fascinate her, her project is to create an archetype of the portrait of the beginning of the 21st century. Her monumental works in black acrylic and bleach - originals and lithographs - are on show at the K+Y gallery until 30 May 2023, and we are delighted to welcome the artist on 13 April for the opening.

Like an ode to weightlessness, the feathered portraits of Marie-Ange Daudé and the transparent paintings of our new Canadian artist Jennifer McGregor echo each other to evoke the lightness of life. The delicate work of the feather artist paints expressive faces with finesse; the superimposed colors of Jennifer McGregor sketch imaginary and universal landscapes. "I strive to eclipse the ugliness of the everyday and celebrate beauty, grace, memory, joy, and connection," states our latest Canadian artist, Jennifer McGregor. Known for her acrylic works with translucent colors, her abstract forms appear as imaginary landscapes to the viewer. Organic forms and natural colors are paramount in McGregor's work. Originally from Alberta, Jennifer McGregor began a career in design before attending the Ontario College of Art and Design, where she specialized in drawing and painting. After spending three years in Florence, Italy, she returned to Toronto in 2006, where she currently lives and paints.

When she evokes her inspirations, she talks about nature: "My painting practice revolves around elements of landscapes such as hills, mountains, water, stones, and most recently icebergs, all of which are layered translucently as thin and permeable landscapes. For example, my series of cairns (piled stones) is influenced by stories of late 19th and early 20th century explorers being lost on ice or land, where the vastness of the environment and the smallness of ourselves is bridged only by wayfinders that mark our presence and direction. The forms are a reminder that we are here, but will in time succumb to the forces of nature."

Jennifer McGregor tends to work in cycles on landscapes or forms that for one reason or another pique her curiousity, be it mountain peaks, or water drops, or stones, or ice. She then begins to dissect these forms into coloured parts that, when layered, make a whole. According to the artist, her work evokes isolation. Lone objects on land or sea, our place alone in our environment, our impermanence and the shifting nature of landscape, celebrated through colour, form and texture.

We are very proud to welcome to our roster of artists the very talented Canadian painter Jennifer McGregor, whose abstract forms appear as imaginary landscapes to the viewer. Natural patterns, organic shapes and stimulating colors are all paramount in McGregor's work, which will be on display at K+Y Gallery starting March 20.

By making colour vibrate, through paint or pixels, our two artists in the spotlight are resolutely convinced of its power. A dialogue is created between the formal minimalism of Korean artist Park Byung-Hoon and the detailed abundance of works by French photographer Didier Fournet. Both influenced by the concepts of Western art of the last century, they play with compositions, materials and hues to give an impression of movement and freeze the passing of time.
